The Art of Collage with Tom Judd
Artist Tom Judd will be leading a hands-on workshop exploring the expressive world of collage in modern and contemporary art. Judd’s extensive use of collage in his work over his many years as an artist will be shared in this action packed day. It will begin with an engaging introduction to the history of collage—from early 20th-century innovators like Picasso and Braque to the experimental works of Hannah Höch, Romare Bearden, and contemporary artists redefining the medium today.
Following the talk, you'll dive into a supervised working session where you'll create your own collage-based artwork. With both group instruction and one-on-one coaching, you’ll experiment with layering, composition, and texture using a variety of mixed media materials provided.
We’ll conclude with a final group critique, offering each participant the chance to share their work and receive constructive, supportive feedback from the instructor and fellow artists.
This workshop is perfect for artists of all levels, from beginners curious about collage to seasoned makers looking to shake up their process.

Kids Sangha
We do short meditations, read Buddhist children's books, play awareness games, and draw. We might walk to a local playground during the second half of our time.
Age is 5+. Please only drop your kids if they are comfortable with adults who are not their parents.
If any parents want to volunteer to support for half of kids sangha, that would be wonderful.

Yoga Retreat
The New Year is an opportunity to turn inward and set your intentions for the year ahead. Heart Sangha is excited to announce that we are holding a one-day retreat, Holding Our Hearts So We Can Grow.
This is an invitation to lose our armor and find our hearts. We’ll create the conditions to start to dismantle self-loathing. We’ll practice giving ourselves loving-kindness and compassion. At the end of our day, we will widen the circle of love.
We'll hold silence so everyone can go deep. There will be time for journaling, sketching, and stretching. We'll have walking meditation and mindful discussion at the end of the day so we can get to know our Dharma sisters and brothers.
An Asian-American and woman-owned local business Earthside Provisions will be catering our retreat. Vegetarian lunch, snacks with gluten-free options, caffeinated chai, and herbal tea are all included.
